The short version: Gadwal collects no data. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
The app has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting service, no ads and no accounts. We never see your databases, your queries, your connection details or how you use the app.
What network access the app uses
Gadwal only connects to places you configure:
- Your database servers. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB and ClickHouse servers you add, directly or through an SSH server you name.
- Cloud APIs you set up. The Cloudflare API for D1 databases, and the Google BigQuery API and Google's sign-in service, using the token or key you provide.
- The App Store. StoreKit checks your trial and purchase with Apple.
- The local MCP server. When you turn it on, it listens on
127.0.0.1, so only apps on your own Mac can reach it. It is never exposed to your network or the internet.
It makes no other network calls.
AI apps you connect
Gadwal has no AI of its own. If you connect an AI app such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or VS Code, that app reads results from Gadwal over the local MCP server and may send them to its own AI provider. That is governed by that app's privacy policy, not this one. You choose which connections each AI can see, and you can hide columns from AI completely.
What stays on your Mac
- Connection details, query history, pending changes and the AI activity log, in the app's sandbox container (
~/Library/Containers/com.dribrahimm.gadwal/). - Passwords, SSH key passphrases, API tokens and MCP tokens, in your macOS Keychain. They are not synced to iCloud.
- Backups, in the folder you choose. If you pick a folder inside iCloud Drive, Apple syncs it under your iCloud account.
